Our target
We want everyone who works with economic and workforce information to be able to use this website. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we build in
- Semantic page structure with one main heading per page, landmarks and a skip link.
- Every interactive element can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text and interface colors are chosen to meet AA contrast, and color is never the only signal.
- Layouts reflow down to a 320 pixel width and support text resizing without horizontal page scrolling.
- Forms use visible labels and describe errors in text.
- Motion respects the reduced-motion setting of your device, and the product examples on this site have a text transcript.
- Our policy is to publish captions and a transcript with each video.
- Automated accessibility checks run on our page templates before changes are released.
Known limitations
We have not yet published the results of a full accessibility audit, so we do not claim that every page meets WCAG 2.2 AA. Some documents, such as downloadable PDFs, may not be fully accessible. Tell us what you need and we will provide it in another format.
